Business Intelligence & Data Analysis
Turn big data into powerful, actionable insights that drive smarter business decisions.
Business Intelligence and Data Analysis for Irish Businesses
Your business already collects plenty of useful data in its orders, jobs, inspections and invoices. The trouble is that it's usually spread across emails, spreadsheets and different systems, so it takes someone hours to pull it together before you can see what's going on. We build dashboards and reports that do that work for you, using the data you already have, so the figures you care about are in one place and up to date.
We can help you:
- See your figures clearly: a dashboard built around the handful of numbers that matter most to you
- Stop building reports by hand: data is collected and reports are put together automatically, saving hours each week
- Spot trends early: notice what's changing in your business while there's still time to act on it
- Run things better: use what the figures show to fix slow processes and cut costs
What Our Business Intelligence Services Include
Reporting and dashboards built for small and medium businesses, starting with what you need most.
Custom Dashboards
A dashboard that shows your key figures as charts and tables, kept up to date as new data comes in.
Automated Reporting
Reports that put themselves together on a schedule, so the information is ready when you need it.
Data Integration
We bring data from your different systems, emails and spreadsheets together so you see the whole business in one view.
KPI Tracking
Keep an eye on your key performance figures and get an alert when one of them needs looking at.
Cloud Analytics
Where there's a lot of data to work through, we use Google BigQuery, so you don't have to buy or run any servers.
Data Quality
We check and tidy the data as it comes in, because a report is only as good as the figures behind it.
How Businesses Use Dashboards and Reporting
- Sales analysis: see how sales are going, which products or services do best and what's coming in
- Customer insights: understand what your customers buy and how often
- Operations: follow work through your business and find where it gets held up
- Financial reporting: keep track of income, costs and job profitability without waiting for the month end
- Compliance tracking: keep a full record of inspections and certificates, with reminders before anything expires
For example, we've built a weekly plain-English summary email and a dashboard comparing sites for a multi-site food business using SmartChef, job costing reports for a plumbing and heating firm, and an admin dashboard that imports Google Search Console figures every night. Cork Office Machines and Supplies Ltd now sees page counts, toner levels and printer faults as they come in, with an alert for any printer that hasn't sent in its usage report.

Frequently asked questions
What are business intelligence solutions?
Business intelligence solutions take the data your business already collects, such as orders, jobs, inspections or sales, and turn it into dashboards and reports that show what's working. For a small business, that usually means one screen with the numbers you care about, kept up to date automatically. It replaces the job of someone building a spreadsheet by hand every month.
What do business intelligence services include?
Our business intelligence services cover custom dashboards, automated reports, bringing data from several sources into one view, tracking your key figures with alerts, and keeping the data clean and accurate. We start with the few numbers that matter most to you rather than trying to measure everything at once. More reports can be added in stages as you find out what's useful.
Do you offer business intelligence and dashboard development in Ireland?
Yes. We're based in County Kildare and build dashboards and reporting systems for businesses across Ireland and Northern Ireland. You deal with one person from start to finish, the person who builds your system, and most day to day contact happens by video call, phone and email.
Is business intelligence worth it for a small business?
It usually is if someone in your business spends hours each week copying figures into spreadsheets to see what's going on. Cork Office Machines and Supplies Ltd now sees page counts, toner levels and printer faults as they come in, and the system behind it gave the family business 90% less manual work on order processing and billing. You don't need a big company's budget or a data team to get that kind of result.
How much does a business intelligence dashboard cost in Ireland?
A first version usually costs €3,000 to €8,000, a mid-sized system €8,000 to €12,000 depending on complexity, and larger builds €15,000 and up. The price depends mainly on how many sources the data comes from, how many reports and screens you need and how many types of user will see them. We agree a fixed price for the first version before any work starts.
How long does it take to build a custom dashboard?
A first version usually takes 4 to 8 weeks. You see working screens with your own data early on, so you can tell us what's useful while it's still easy to change. After that, the system grows in stages as you decide what else you'd like to measure.
Can a dashboard pull in data from the systems and spreadsheets we already use?
Usually, yes. We've built systems that read data from incoming emails and their attachments, keep everything in one central database and export figures to an existing billing system, and we work with tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and Xero. We look at where your data lives in the first conversation and plan the connections from there.
Do I need a big data platform for business intelligence?
No. Most small and medium businesses get the most value from the data they already collect, set out clearly in one place. Where there's a lot of data to analyse, we use Google BigQuery, which handles large volumes without you having to buy or run any servers.
Can a dashboard warn us when something needs attention?
Yes. A dashboard can track your key figures and send an alert when one of them needs looking at, so problems don't wait for the month end report. The Cork billing system, for example, flags printer faults and printers that haven't sent in their usage reports, and the apps we built for AM Site Solutions send reminders before certificates expire.
Is our business data safe in a reporting system you build?
Your data is held on Google Cloud in an EU region, encrypted while it travels and while it's stored, and backed up every night to separate off-site storage. Role-based access means each person only sees the figures they need for their job. You own the data and the code, and we sign a GDPR data processing agreement when you ask.
Want a clearer view of how your business is doing?
Tell us which numbers you'd like to see each week and we'll show you how a dashboard built from your own data could work.
