Software and Apps for Agriculture

Apps for farmers, co-ops and agri businesses that work in the yard and the field, not just in the office.

Farm software that works where farmers work

Farming comes with a lot of record keeping, from field activity and inputs to the paperwork for inspections and schemes. It's often done at the end of a long day, when the last thing anyone wants is more paperwork.

We build apps that are quick to use in the field and turn the records into reports that are ready for an inspection. We also build tools for the businesses that serve farmers, such as co-ops and their sales teams.

Agriculture software we've built

TillageTrack was started by a Wexford tillage farmer who wanted a simpler way to keep records. We built native iPhone and Android apps that log field activity and inputs and produce inspection ready reports. We took it from a first version to a live product on the App Store and Google Play, with farmers setting up and managing their own accounts.

For an agricultural co-op, we built an app for its field sales reps. Reps plan which farmers to visit, record what was discussed at each visit and anything that needs following up, and managers can see which farms have been covered and what came out of each call.

Our food traceability software, SmartTrace, is used by growers to link what they harvest and pack to the customers who receive it.

What agriculture software can include

Field and activity records

Log sprays, fertiliser, sowing and harvest against each field as the work is done.

Photos and notes from the field

Add a photo or a note to a record while you're standing in the field, so the detail isn't lost.

Inspection ready reports

Records pulled together into the reports an inspector or scheme asks for.

Sales rep and call planning tools

Plan farm visits, record calls and give managers a view of what's been covered.

Apps you can sell to other farmers

Self managed accounts and subscriptions, so your idea can become a product.

Traceability for growers

Link harvested and packed produce to the customers who received it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you build apps for farmers?

Yes. We built TillageTrack, a record keeping app for Irish tillage farmers that's live on the App Store and Google Play, and an app for an agricultural co-op's field reps to plan and record their visits to farmers.

Can a farm app help with the Irish Grain Assurance Scheme?

Yes. TillageTrack was built around the records tillage farmers need for inspections under the Irish Grain Assurance Scheme, and turns them into inspection ready reports.

Can a farm app produce reports for inspections?

Yes. TillageTrack turns the field records into inspection ready reports, so farmers don't have to pull them together by hand.

I'm a farmer with an idea for an app. Can you help?

Yes. TillageTrack started that way, with a Wexford farmer who knew what was missing. We built a first version, tested it with real users and grew it into a live product. A first version usually costs €3,000 to €8,000 and takes 4 to 8 weeks.

Do you build software for co-ops and agri businesses?

Yes. We built an app for an agricultural co-op's field reps. They plan their visits to farmers, record what was discussed and what needs following up after each visit, and managers can see which farms have been covered.

Are your farm apps native iPhone and Android apps?

Yes. We build native apps in Swift for iPhone and Kotlin for Android, so they work well with the phone's camera, location and storage.

Can we sell the app to other farmers?

Yes. TillageTrack is a product other farmers sign up to and manage themselves, with their own farm settings and field data. You own the code, so it's your product.

How much does a farm app cost?

A first version usually costs €3,000 to €8,000, a mid-sized app €8,000 to €12,000, and larger builds start at €15,000. Apple and Google also charge for developer accounts if you publish under your own name.
