Software for Food Producers and Small Manufacturers

Batches, stock, costs and traceability recorded once and kept together, sized for businesses that make things on a small scale.

Software for businesses that make things

Most manufacturing software is built for large factories and priced to match. Smaller producers end up running batches, stock and costs on paper and spreadsheets, and it works until a customer, an auditor or a supplier needs an answer quickly.

We build simpler systems for small producers and workshops: what came in, what was made from it, where the stock is, what a job really cost and who received what. Everything is recorded once and linked, so the answer is there when you need it.

Work we've done for producers and stock heavy businesses

SmartTrace is our traceability software for small food producers. It grew out of work with a microgreens grower, a bakery and a school meals kitchen. Deliveries are recorded with the supplier's lot number, batches are made from your recipes, and dispatches are linked to customers, so you can trace any lot in seconds. AI reads delivery labels from a photo to save typing.

For a building services company with a busy office, we built an operations system alongside their job sheet app. Supplier invoices arriving by email are read by AI, with the Irish VAT details picked out, and someone in the office checks and approves each one. Stock is tracked as it comes in and goes out, a stocktake can be counted on a phone or tablet with a second person approving the differences, and materials and labour are costed against each job. A reorder list warns when stock runs low.

For Cork Office Machines and Supplies, we track toner and other consumables for every printer they look after, using usage reports sent automatically by the machines.

Indoor positioning with UWB is something we've installed and built software for. The same technology can track equipment, trolleys or work in progress around a factory floor or warehouse.

What production and stock software can include

Batch records and traceability

Link incoming lots to the batches they went into and the customers who received them.

Stock across locations

Know what's in each unit or store, with movements recorded as stock comes in and goes out.

Stocktakes on a phone

Count by category on a phone or tablet, review the differences and update stock in one step.

Job and batch costing

Materials, kits and labour costed against each job or batch so you can see what it really cost.

Supplier invoices read for you

Invoices from email read by AI, matched to orders and checked by a person before they're approved.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you build software for small manufacturers?

Yes. We build systems for small food producers, workshops and businesses that hold a lot of stock, covering batches, traceability, stock control, stocktakes and job costing. They're sized and priced for small businesses, not large factories.

Do you have traceability software for food producers?

Yes. SmartTrace is our traceability software for small food producers such as bakeries, growers, cheese makers and cook chill kitchens. It links ingredient lots to batches and customers so you can trace any lot forwards or backwards in seconds.

Can you build stock control software?

Yes. We've built stock control that tracks stock as it comes in and goes out, a stocktake counted on a phone or tablet with a second person approving the changes, and a reorder list grouped by supplier.

Can software show what each job or batch really costs?

Yes. We've built job costing that brings together supplier invoices, stock taken from the stores and labour from job sheets, so the office can see the full cost of each job.

Do you use AI in manufacturing and stock software?

Where it saves real time. We use AI to read supplier invoices from email and delivery labels from a photo. A person still checks and approves the result, and the original document is kept with the record.

Can you track equipment around a factory floor?

Yes, with indoor positioning using UWB. Small tags on equipment or trolleys are located by anchors around the building, and we build the software that shows where everything is.

Will it work alongside our accounts package?

Usually, yes. We can export data in the format your accounts package or payroll system expects, or connect directly where the package allows it.

How much does manufacturing software cost?

A first version usually costs €3,000 to €8,000, a mid-sized system €8,000 to €12,000, and larger builds start at €15,000. Most clients start with the part that causes the most trouble, often stock or traceability, and add to it in stages.

Running production or stock on spreadsheets?

Tell us what you make, how you track it now and where it falls down, and we'll give you an honest view of what a simple system would cost.
